Born in Wales (UK), I graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea with B.Sc Hons in Chemistry. In September 2001 I completed my PhD under the supervision of Professor Cameron Jones at Cardiff University. During my Ph.D studies I was fortunate to spend 6 months working at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia with Professor Glen Deacon. 

After graduating from Cardiff University, I spent 6 months working for Bruker Biospin, after which time I returned to a post-doctoral position for Professor Philip Power at U.C.Davis. Having spent two years at U.C Davis I took up my current position at TCU in August 2004.
