Physics 10273 is the course number for Introductory Astronomy: Earth & Planets. It is taught by Dr. Doug R. Ingram. The course has no prerequisites (some basic algebra and trigonometry will be used), and it is considered to be independent from the other semesters of Introductory Astronomy (Physics 10263 and 10293). Physics 10273 covers a few basic physical concepts (such as the properties of light and gravity) as well as Earth's climate and energy sources. We will also talk about the properties of our solar system (the origin and evolution of the planets and moons) and the search for extrasolar planets and extraterrestrial life.

For this course, you are required to complete 10 labs during your scheduled lab section, unless otherwise noted in the course. Your final grade is a combination of 20% of the lab grade and 80% of the lecture grade.

Under the TCU core (HMVV), Physics 10273 counts as a Natural Science (NSC) course as well as a Global Awareness (GA) course.
