I joined the Philosophy Department at TCU in the Fall of 2007. Before that I had spent one year as a lecturer in the Philosophy Department at Southern Methodist University. I did my graduate work at the Univeristy of Colorado, Boulder, and I recieved Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and government from New Mexico State University.
Much of my time is spent working on philosophy or hanging out with my fiance, Tracie. When doing philosophy I am usually focusing on the problem of political obligation. In particular I am interested in aspects of what I am calling meta-political obligation. That is, I am intersted in examining the way that philosophers have typically framed the debate about political obligation and looking at ways in which the debate may be reexamined. I hope that by doing this I may gain new insight into this old problem. When spending time with my fiance we like to watch movies, watch t.v. (we've become hooked on 'Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares' on BBCA), do yoga, an go for bike rides. We also spend a bit too much time doting on our cats. |
