EXAM EQUATION SHEETS:

For each of the exams I will provide an equation sheet. Click on the links to download the sheet for the upcoming exam. Remember that I will attach this sheet to your exam - you do not need to bring this equation sheet to class.
In response to student requests, I've posted the equation for exam 1 (from the previous version of this course), as a study guide. I may add equations to this sheet, but you can use it now as you work homework problems.

PREPARATION FOR EXAMS:

Here is a quick guide to aid you in preparing for the class exams:

(1) Read the chapter summaries carefully. Be aware of the meaning of each highlighted words.
(2) Complete the conceptual questions located at the end of each chapter. Exam questions are frequently drawn from these end-of-chapter questions. Answers to odd-numbered conceptual questions are given in the back of the text.
(3) Work all homework problems; be sure to understand (a) how to set up the problem, (b) which physical principles is/are applicable, (c) make note of the units.
(4) Read through your class notes, including the problems worked during lecture.
(5) Download and look over the relevant exam equation sheet.
(6) Read through each chapter carefully, always attempting to understand the primary points presented in each subsection. Do each of the "Quick Quizes" (answers in back).
(7) Finally, as time permits, work as many of the other problems as possible. Note that the full solutions to additional problems are presented in the Student Instruction Manual.

Quizzes and exam questions are frequently drawn directly from homework, in-class problems, conceptual questions and quick quizes from the book.
