On the nights of Tue Apr 8, Wed Apr 9 and Thu Apr 10, there will be observing labs (weather permitting) held starting at 830pm on the roof of the Tucker Technology Center (follow the staircase at the south end of the building all the way up to the roof - come a few minutes early so you can be sure you have time to find the right staircase). The door to the roof will be locked two minutes after the start of the lab so that late arrivers cannot interrupt the lab activity. It is therefore very important for you to be on time. This lab activity will last for about an hour, and you only need to bring something to write with. Only 50 students will be allowed to sign up for any given time (of the 3 possible times). TA's will hold onto the signup sheets for these labs until 1pm of the same day of the lab.

The observing lab will only be held if the weather is clear is enough to see the stars. If it is mostly cloudy, rainy or worse, then no lab will be held. If you are unsure about whether or not a lab will be held on a given evening, there will be a voicemail message about the status of the lab on my office phone (817-257-7313) by 700pm stating whether or not the lab will be held. If no lab is held, you need simply to show up on some other night (if a given night is cancelled, I will hold a make-up lab one week from that day). To get credit, you need to show up on time, participate in the lab, and turn in the appropriate lab worksheet to be graded and returned to you later.

You may attend the observing lab on any of the three nights mentioned above in which the weather is sufficiently clear. You may only attend one observing lab (the same lab will be taught each night). There is also one make-up week lab during week 11, the week of April 14 during your normal lab time. During this week, you may attend any of the lab sections, and you will be assigned a lab from the lab manual that has not been assigned so far during the semester. You may only make up for one missed lab during this week.
