    • One of the first series I read as a very young child, I was thoroughly enthralled by the first book, then a bit bored by the rest. I revisited this series when I was in college and caught all of the Christian allegorical references that I hadn't before. This series is o.k., especially for kids just starting out reading, and it has it's high points for the more experienced reader as well. I'd recommend it as a good example of the fairy tale genre.
