Adams, Douglas
- Series: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (8 r)
- The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (7 r)
- Life, the Universe and Everything (8 r)
- So Long and Thanks for All the Fish (7 r)
- Mostly Harmless (7 r)
- Very funny series in the tradition of British comedy.
The plot is complex but following it isn't THAT critical.
Adams has a great talent for irony, and this is one of the
few SF authors that has ever made me laugh out loud while
reading a book. If you like his work, you should have a
look at the Infocom game "Bureaucracy"...totally hilarious.
- Series: Dirk Gently
- Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (6 r)
- The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul (6 r)
- This isn't as strong as the Hitchhiker series, but I
would still recommend it if you like Adams' style. The
central character strongly resembles Arthur, but the
situations are slightly less outlandish (usually).
