Freisner, Esther
- Split Heirs (with Lawrence Watt-Evans) (2 r)
- Light and funny fantasy along the lines of Terry Pratchett's
Discworld, though not quite as out of the mainstream of fantasy
fiction. I like Watt-Evans' other stuff, but his style just
didn't suit me here. He tried to both slapstick and fantasy
adventure at the same time, and neither worked well...it's tough
to enter a genre to be compared to Douglas Adams or Terry
Pratchett, though. I hope Watt-Evans goes back to the more
subtle/ironic/situational humor with Ethshar soon.
