Penrose, Roger
- The Emperor's New Mind
- An introduction to some of the basic problems in mathematics
and Artificial Intelligence today. The best discussion of Godel's
theorem I've ever seen (better than, say, Hofstader, but only just).
Lots of debate over whether his ideas make any sense is floating
around in some newsgroups. The book itself was a little dry, which
was surprising given that it was asking some interesting and
fundamental questions (like, what would be the moral consequences
if we really had Star-Trek-like transporters)? Well, _I_ think
it is a neat question. :)
