Kyle E. Walker, Ph.D.
I am Professor and Chair of the Department of Geography and Director of the Institute for Urban Innovation at Texas Christian University. My research interests include the demography of cities and suburbs, US immigration politics, and open-source tools for spatial data science.
I am the author of Analyzing US Census Data: Methods, Maps, and Models in R (CRC Press, 2023) and of a family of open-source packages for working with spatial and demographic data, including tidycensus, tigris, and mapgl. At TCU, I teach courses in Geographic Information Systems, data analysis and visualization, and urban studies.
