Miller, Dennis

• The Rants

  • Similar to SeinLanguage in that it is Dennis Miller's shtick in printed form. At a cover price of $12, it's a little steep to buy just for the two hours of laughs that it provides, but I imagine it'll show up on the bargain rack soon enough. Anyway, I read it over a couple of hours in a bookstore one afternoon in May 1997 to kill some time, and I greatly enjoyed it. Then again, I think Miller is hilarious, so your mileage may vary if you don't like him.

• Ranting Again

  • More of the same. Miller's material is *very* hit-and-miss. I'll read about 4-5 pages and wonder why the hell he thinks any of this is funny, then for one paragraph, he's golden and I'm laughing out loud (which is extremely rare for me while reading).
