• You Just Don't Understand

  • A fascinating subject (conversation patterns of men and women) but an utterly dry and boring treatment. Tannen spends almost 2/3 of the book dissecting arguments, and those dissections are very difficult to picture in your mind or follow. Surely there has been a brief magazine article in Time or Newsweek that covers this ground. You'll get as much out of that (and there is some interesting work to come out of this, don't get me wrong) as you would out of plodding through this book.
