Wolfe, Gene
- Series: The Book of the New Sun
- The Shadow of the Torturer (7 r)
- The Claw of the Conciliator (5 r)
- The Sword of the Lictor (5 r)
- The Citadel of the Autarch (4 r)
- Well, I was recommended to Wolfe very highly by some
friends, so I gave this a go. It is a fantasy story mostly
in the first person about the life of a torturer after he
abandons his job and goes travelling. Very dark and
foreboding, which kind of depressed me, and the vocabulary
was enough to make me stumble several times. It's tough
to recommend this one, but I can't really find anything
bad to say about it. Proceed with caution.
- Free Live Free (1 r)
- Book set in the modern day world about a bunch of people
involved in murder and mysticism. To be honest, I just flat-out
disliked this book. Had a lot of the problems of the New Sun
series (too dark and too many uselessly archaic words) with
none of the good things (like a good plot and interesting
characters).
