World Regional Geography
A survey of the world's primary regions and the human and physical geography that shape them. Interactions between natural environment, cultural geography, geopolitics, history, land use, and economic geography are highlighted.
Course Description
This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the world's major geographic regions. We examine how physical landscapes, cultural traditions, economic systems, and political structures combine to create the distinctive characteristics of each region.

- Europe – From the EU to emerging Eastern European economies
- Russia & Post-Soviet States – Geopolitics and resource geography
- Middle East & North Africa – Oil, water, and conflict
- Sub-Saharan Africa – Development challenges and opportunities
- South Asia – Population, culture, and economic growth
- East Asia – From ancient civilizations to modern powerhouses
- Southeast Asia – Diversity, trade, and rapid change
- Oceania – Islands, isolation, and climate vulnerability
- Latin America – Colonial legacies and contemporary dynamics
Learning Objectives
